The Ministry of External Affairs of India issues passports via a network of passport offices as well as Indian embassies and consulates around the world. For those who travel overseas for tourism, education, business, pilgrimage, and family visits, the passport serves as a necessary travel document. According to the Passports Act of 1967, the passport aids the possessor in attesting to his or her citizenship in India. Many couples also seek a passport on the basis of their husband by doing court marriage in Mumbai, thinking that the certificate will allow them to have a spouse visa. But there is a certain document which has been required for the passport Acceptable Proof of Address Documents
